Where are You going to work?
Nielsen’s operations span more than 100 countries with headquarters in New York.
- You will work in our Dutch office in Diemen, near Amsterdam. You will be part of the Dutch finance team (in total 3 persons) and will report to the Finance Director Benelux. You will be the right hand of the Finance Director on Dutch tax and statutory knowledge. You will maintain regular contact with peers in the other European countries, as well as European and Global headquarters.
What are You going to do?
You will work in an interesting position combining accounting/controlling tasks with commercial insight into the business.
- You are responsible for meeting internal and external reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner, and ensuring proper governance and internal control. You manage periodic reconciliation of accounts and perform quarterly balance sheet reviews with the local finance team and the
Shared Service Center. You are responsible for the Quarterly US GAAP tax reporting, income tax calculations and reconciliations, and you compose the annual statutory accounts.
- You will also be involved in commercial analysis of the business, including periodic revenue reporting and variance analysis to the commercial group and Europe headquarters, and supporting the commercial group in the forecasting and budgeting of company revenues. The aim is for you to act as an internal financial consultant to the commercial group.
- In addition, we expect you to drive process standardization/simplification, and identify and implement business process improvements where applicable.
What do we ask?
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor/Master degree in Accounting/Finance preferably complemented with a postgraduate degree in accountancy (RA/CPA/ACCA). We require 3-5 years of relevant working experience in an international accounting or financial control role (Big 4 background preferable).
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP applications is necessary; experience with Navision and HFM is considered an asset. We require experience in working within a US-GAAP environment and strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP.
You should possess good analytical capabilities to manage the analyst responsibilities.
